What you will accomplish together with our senior leadership team:

In the role of Director, reporting to the Executive Director, you will play a crucial leadership role in the development and delivery of Premise Services.

Responsibilities will encompass offering strategic guidance, providing operational direction, and nurturing robust relationships with AFL’s clients and operational stakeholders.

Your primary goal will be to ensure the fulfillment of all business goals and objectives.

What You will do:
  • Responsible for providing leadership and oversight for all day-to-day departmental operations within their designated region; including:
  • Development and implementation of regional strategic plans, key performance indicators, and objectives in collaboration with the Executive Director and Director to maximize productivity and ensure customer obligations are met.
  • Collaborate closely with the other Director of Premise Operations to monitor progress and establish consistency across all aspects of Premise Services operations and client interactions.
  • Responsible for planning, development, execution, and regular review of the Premise budget and achieving operational target metrics.
  • Management of direct reports and departmental activities related to employment, including recruitment, training, development, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Motivation and achievement of required value generation (sales) targets for assigned regions. This includes providing sales and customer service training for front-line field technicians.
  • Lead the oversight of production and quality assurance in collaboration with the Human Resources, Health and Safety, and Procurement and Contracts teams to ensure operational activities comply with relevant standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal departments, including Dispatch, Resource Planning, and Finance, to enhance efficiencies, minimize customer experience issues, and enhance fulfillment and service delivery.
  • Partner with the material team to foster innovation and drive process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiencies in inventory management and turnaround time. This involves exchanging best practices and implementing process enhancements that positively impact operations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that will facilitate team development and collaboration with key stakeholders, including internal departments, senior management, and clients.
  • Ensure timely addressing of customer escalations and subsequent follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver operational reviews to AFL clients and team members.
What you bring:
  • Knowledge & Experience
  • A relevant degree, diploma, or certificate is required. Preference is given to candidates with education in Business and/or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in the Telecommunications or IT industry is necessary.
  • Thorough understanding of both copper and GPON telecommunications infrastructure and associated services is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in sales processes, with a demonstrated history of meeting sales targets in a field operations environment, are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint, is a must.
