About The Role PowerCo Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Senior Specialist, Value Stream Management (VSM) to lead the planning and implementation of production machinery for our battery cell factory. The role focuses on electrode manufacturing, cell assembly, formation, aging, finishing and testing processes for battery cells. Key Responsibilities Perform tasks related to cell manufacturing for battery cell production plants, including electrode processes, cell assembly, formation and aging, cell finishing, and testing. Implement equipment concepts for production machinery and coordinate realization and operation of these concepts, ensuring adherence to defined measures. Assess, design, and ensure the application of new technologies and compliance with external and internal regulations (e.g., quality and production targets). Document issues and lead efforts to find optimized solutions. Investigate and identify root causes of equipment failures, and summarize/communicate lessons learned. Professionally coordinate and guide employees involved in the equipment planning process; train other employees on technical topics. Lead sub‑projects of equipment planning from concept through implementation in mass production, ensuring smooth production start and defining KPIs. Work on and provide guidance for the certification and permitting process of cell manufacturing equipment in Canada. Lead machine design reviews, FAT, installation, commissioning, and SOP. Guide equipment suppliers to install and commission cell manufacturing equipment. Lead SAT and work with suppliers on specific process areas. Lead equipment handover to production team, together with maintenance experts. What You Bring To The Team Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical, mechanical, materials, chemical or electrochemical engineering, or a related major. Direct experience in designing/planning battery cell equipment or extensive battery cell manufacturing experience. Deep knowledge of manufacturing feasibility, method plan validation, design principles, measurement process validation, P‑FEMA, MES. Experience working in corporate supplier‑customer relationships. Action‑oriented work style and strong drive of results. Integrity and value‑driven working style, compliant with rules and regulations. Experience in the initial phase of a battery cell production plant is an asset. Experience with automotive OEMs is an asset. Experience in mass production of automotive components is an asset.
