Cultural Services Lead Supervisor

1 Permanent vacancy (Located at one of our Agency's Central Region offices) Closing date: January 25, 2026 Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Culture & Well-Being Services, the Cultural Services Lead Supervisor (CSLS) is a vital role in the agency’s direction of promoting and maintaining cultural identity as an integral component of individual, family and community healing. The CSLS is responsible for supervising and guiding the Cultural Resources Team while providing overall leadership to the Cultural Services department across the agency, ensuring that culturally appropriate practices are consistently implemented to support the overall wellbeing and development of Indigenous children, youth and families. The role involves program development, team management, cultural promotion, community outreach, and collaboration with internal and external partners. The CSLS will ensure that all cultural program supports are culturally intelligent services rooted in the culture, beliefs, and values of the Indigenous population we serve, with a focus on a holistic approach to prevention. What you will do: You will lead program planning and development in response to community needs You will represent the Agency at community events and build strong external partnerships You will develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous organizations, community groups, and cultural partners You will oversee team scheduling, workload distribution, and resource allocation You will prepare reports for senior leadership and ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance You will lead the development and implementation of cultural training in collaboration with Elders/Knowledge Keepers and Staff Trainers You will champion equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and cultural safety across programs and operations You will ensure AODA compliance and an inclusive, barrier-free program delivery Who you are: You are a compassionate, community-grounded leader who is deeply committed to seeing Indigenous children, families, and communities thrive. You bring lived experience, cultural knowledge, and a strong understanding of Indigenous teachings, values, and traditions, and you carry yourself in ways that are respectful and accountable to community. You are recognized within your community as someone who works with integrity, cultural humility, and a strong Indigenous lens, grounded in anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practice. You hold a university degree in Indigenous Studies or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and lived experience. You bring at least five years of progressive leadership experience in community and/or cultural services, along with extensive experience working alongside Indigenous peoples, organizations, and Nations. You are a skilled communicator, facilitator, and mentor who can lead teams, develop culturally responsive programs and training, build strong community partnerships, and navigate complex systems with care and confidence. You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while ensuring accountability, confidentiality, and high-quality service delivery. Mandatory Requirements: Provide an acceptable Canadian Police Information Centre Check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS). Provide a safe vehicle for use on the job, an acceptable Driver’s Abstract, evidence of a valid Ontario Driver’s License and of Personal Liability & Property Damage insurance coverage for at least 2,000,000.00. Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and holidays as required. This position requires Authorization by the Executive Director. Working Conditions: A working location with a hybrid work from home option is available, subject to initial and ongoing eligibility. Travel within the catchment area will be required. Our office hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour unpaid lunch. While we promote a healthy work-life balance and aim to keep working hours within 35 hours per week, the needs of the children, youth and families we serve require frontline staff to regularly work outside standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting Salary Range: $84,782.44 – $103,843.74, depending on qualifications and experience.
