Operations Supervisor

Operations Supervisor (Temporary) Location: Ottawa, ON Schedule: Day Shift A hands‑on Operations Supervisor to lead a team of six in supporting aircraft maintenance operations. This role is critical to ensuring smooth daily logistics, inventory control, and timely delivery of parts and materials. The supervisor will advise on logistical system development, implementation, auditing and continuous improvement. Essential Functions In close consultation with Operations Manager, continuously improve structure and efficiencies. Through training and oversight, ensure adherence to policy and procedures. Collaborate closely with Licensed Planner, QA, Engineering, PRAA, Programs Manager, and Operations Manager to ensure Airworthiness, Training, Currency, Projects, Customer Satisfaction and Key Performance Indicators are met or exceeded. Health & Safety Carry out monthly inspections and follow up on corrective actions. Prepare and participate in OHS committee meetings and follow up actions. Complete accident/incident reports; assist L3 Harris auditors during visits and follow up on actions. Quality Respond and document corrective action requests (CARs/JIRAs). Create and update departmental procedures and ensure employees follow them. Participate and encourage employees to propose continuous improvement initiatives. Follow up on improvement measures and promote the RISE program. Management Establish and communicate the priorities of the day. Track completion of documentation with help from the maintenance planner, Tech Records and Maintenance Supervisor. Facilitate daily team meetings; approve timesheets and travel requests. Plan and coordinate training requirements; manage overtime and expense accounts. Qualifications and Experience Undergraduate degree in engineering, logistics or management. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management; experience in team supervision (unionized employees an asset). Ability to make decisions quickly and take action. Customer‑oriented, results‑oriented, “win‑win” approach; inspire employees and collaborators positively. Good oral and written communication skills in French and English (bilingual a plus). Sense of work organization and priority management; knowledge of labor relations. Knowledge of laws and policies related to environment, health and safety at work. Eligibility Criteria Eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program. Eligible to obtain and maintain Canada Security Clearance and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret status. Eligible to meet U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
