Senior Building Science Engineer - Agilus

Are you a Civil Engineer with a passion for building restorations? Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Building Science Engineer in the Engineering Services Industry. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Building Restoration Group with our client to serve their existing and future clients in Collingwood, and the north central Ontario market.

As a Project Manager with the Building Restoration group, you’ll assist their team in providing high quality engineering solutions to meet the client needs. Typical projects could include:

  1. Concrete and masonry restoration
  2. Roof replacement
  3. Building condition evaluations
  4. Capital planning

A typical day:

  • Act as a liaison with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and approval agencies
  • Management of the financial aspects of the project; processing of invoices; collecting receivables; timesheet completion; record keeping; etc.
  • Proposal preparation and coordination
  • Contract administration
  • Prepare tender and contract documents in support of design drawings
  • Nurturing and further developing existing client base through establishing and maintaining client relationships
  • Prepare and issue site inspection reports or review those completed by junior staff
  • Prepare and track project budgets and schedules
  • Develop and maintain a positive team atmosphere; empower staff through effective delegation, mentorship, and training

Successful candidates will have:

  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.), in good standing with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
  • Minimum 10 years of Building Science related experience
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Applied Science degree or related field
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High-level communication skills for dealing with both internal and external clients
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) with demonstrated interest and ability to learn new systems
