- Review and comment on constructability aspects of design drawings;
- Assist in contract negotiation and award processes;
- Coordinate special inspections by subconsultants or specialist inspectors
- Liaise with the Owner, Contractor, and other project stakeholders as required;
- Organize and chair project progress meetings;
- Visit sites regularly to stay abreast of construction developments;
- Review contractor progress payment draws/proper invoices and issue payment verification / certification;
- Review/assess contractor change requests and claims and negotiate if/as required;
- Review project as built information;
- Various other duties as required or assigned
Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required to facilitate administration and inspection support requirements of assigned projects.
A valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle are mandatory to commute to project locations.
- Ideally, 5-8 years of civil construction, and water/wastewater treatment facilities, and client relationship management experience
- A diploma or education in a related discipline
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Sharepoint
- Ability to understand and interpret Contract Documents and Drawings
- Knowledge of Construction materials, building trades, means and methods of the construction process, project scheduling, and the contractual obligations of sub-contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers through the construction process
- Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations, along with OTC Book 7 and traffic control measures
- Strong coordination and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Determination to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Self-motivated and ability to work detached from base support staff
