Become a maker of possible with us.Job Description SummaryReporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Operations, the Bilingual Manager, RFP and Contracting is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day activities of the RFP and Contracting team and driving operational excellence throughout the full RFP lifecycle (from active stages through post‑RFP activities). This role will lead the training and development of the team’s contracting capabilities, implement process improvements, and build a high‑performance team of four direct reports specializing in RFP and contracting to deliver best‑in‑class support for BD’s commercial vision and strategy.The Manager will strengthen the RFP process, establish core contracting and proposal development competencies, and partner across functions to improve handoffs and collaboration with commercial teams. This role will act as an escalation point, working with sales and marketing leadership to prioritize deliverables effectively and contribute to the BD‑Canada operations strategy.A focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence is essential to meet evolving business needs while ensuring compliance with legal and financial requirements. Priorities include building a roadmap with key stakeholders, improving visibility and reporting, standardizing processes, and developing team capabilities.ResponsibilitiesLead and drive alignment of cross‑functional support for business strategy and tactical goals to advance BD effectiveness and market position.Align the business against a RACI model for RFP strategy (pre‑RFP to post‑RFP) to reinforce best practice processes.Support commercial success by defining and driving contracting and proposal proficiency that meets business targets and customer needs.Build relationships with internal and external legal counsel to draft and execute corporate agreements, supply agreements and incentive proposals.Maintain familiarity with applicable contract laws and notify relevant parties of implications (e.g., applicable laws and compliance considerations).Understand financial obligations in capital/consumable business support models.Lead and develop a high‑performing team through coaching, accountability, and mentoring.Demonstrate and promote company values and leadership behaviors.Education And Experience RequiredBachelor’s degree in business administration, health or life science, law, or nursing.5+ years of progressive experience in proposal/tendering (RFP), pricing management, and contract/rebate administration within a complex commercial environment.3+ years of proven experience leading and developing high‑performing teams with coaching and performance management experience.3+ years of paralegal background with drafting, interpreting, and executing legal documentation, contract review, and compliance processes.Fluency in both French and English (reading, writing, speaking) to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including in Quebec.Knowledge And Skills RequiredContracting and redlining with ability to review, edit, and negotiate contractual terms.Ability to interpret complex legal language and ensure accuracy in contract revisions.Process creation and documentation; strong business, legal and financial acumen.Relationship management, deal shaping, change management, and project management skills.Strategic agility and ability to develop long‑term relationships across the organization and with customers.Strong teamwork, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to communicate effectively at all levels.Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Preferred QualificationsExperience within the medical device industry is strongly preferred.Experience with Salesforce.com, SAP, Power BI and QlikView is preferred.Work Location And PoliciesBD prioritizes on‑site collaboration to foster creativity and effective problem‑solving. Most roles require a minimum of 4 days in‑office per week. Remote or field roles will have different arrangements indicated in the job posting.
