Overview The Personal Lines Underwriter is responsible for ensuring adherence to workflows, best practices, and carrier requirements within the Personal Lines Underwriting Team. This role focuses on quality assurance, compliance, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. The Underwriter will also contribute to the development of service standards, maintain relationships with carrier partners, and provide guidance to team members. How you'll make an impact Policy Communication Management: Manage and distribute policy communication received in the Underwriting email inbox to ensure timely and accurate processing. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance reviews of new business applications to ensure compliance with carrier underwriting guidelines and standards. Workflow Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of Personal Insurance service standards and workflows to improve operational efficiency. Compliance and Adherence: Ensure personal and team adherence to established workflows, underwriting criteria, and compliance with guidelines and controls. Workplace Culture: Collaborate with the Area President and SVP of Operations to build and maintain a sustainable workplace culture that promotes respect, fairness, collaboration, and inclusiveness. Benchmark Initiatives: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of benchmark initiatives to drive team performance and success. Carrier Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional carrier partners to facilitate ease of doing business and resolve underwriting queries as required. Knowledge Management: Stay up to date with technical, insurer, and product updates/changes and ensure the team is informed and trained accordingly. Team Support: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to foster professional growth and ensure operational excellence. Other Duties: Perform other duties as required to support the team and organizational objectives. About you Education and Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in personal lines. Strong knowledge of carrier underwriting guidelines and compliance requirements Technical Skills: Proficiency in insurance management systems and underwriting tools. Strong analytical and decision-making skills to assess risk and ensure adherence to guidelines. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with carrier partners and team members. Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Leadership skills to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
