Our firm is seeking an entrepreneurial lawyer with strong experience in Ontario residential real estate. The ideal candidate is a motivated self‑starter who can confidently manage residential purchase, sale, and refinance files from start to finish. The ideal candidate will operate with a high degree of independence while collaborating with—and receiving support from—two lawyers and a law clerk. We offer flexibility in working hybrid between our downtown office and your home, keeping in mind that some clients may want in‑person meetings. Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of residential real estate transactions (purchases, sales, and refinances) which includes opening new files (conflict checks, retainers, etc.), conducting due diligence, and maintaining accurate documentation Meet with clients, provide legal advice, and ensure a smooth client experience Prepare and review all closing documentation and complete closings efficiently Work collaboratively with office colleagues and external stakeholders (lawyers, title searchers, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, etc.) Required Qualifications LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited law school Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario Hands‑on experience in Ontario residential real estate law (experience in Ottawa is an asset) such that the candidate has closed a minimum of 300 transactions to date Ability to manage files independently with strong attention to detail while working as a team player Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment A collaborative spirit and ability to reflect from experience to grow Kindness, confidence, and professionalism in interactions with clients and external stakeholders Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in bringing in clients and nurturing relationships with existing clients What We Offer Direct mentorship from two experienced lawyers A supportive, collegial, and flexible work environment High degree of autonomy in managing files Flexible and competitive compensation Opportunities for professional growth, skill development, and involvement in building the practice A culture that values initiative, integrity, and long‑term relationships How to Apply Please submit your resume, cover letter (please indicate where you heard of the posting, and (optionally) references) to hello@wrlpc.ca with the subject line: Real Estate Lawyer Application – [Your Name].
