JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR CAD DETAILER

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design retail store fixtures to meet customer requirements.
  • Design products and their relative production drawings to meet customer needs and the production floor.
  • Apply basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles in the design process.
  • Create bill of materials and cost estimates for projects using SolidWorks software.
  • Source materials for new designs and layouts, considering quality and cost factors.
  • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, and Sales teams on product development and process improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in the Store Fixture industry is required.
  • Excellent computer skills in Solid Works, MS Excel, 3D and 2D modeling and rendering, MS Office, etc.
  • Knowledge of UL and CSA standards.
  • Ability to think and plan from concept to actual product.
  • Strong design skills when working with various materials.
  • Experience working with sales teams and customers.
  • Strong communication, people, and time management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in the fabrication processes that includes: metal, wood, plastic, glass and electrical.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering/Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in store fixture manufacturing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, including ability to influence others.
  • Works effectively and timely with all levels of plant and office individuals in the organization.
  • Demonstrates focus on building positive, productive business relationships.
  • Always conducts self in a highly professional manner.
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, looks for process improvements.
  • Professional demeanor and proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Solid working knowledge base in engineering practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and technical leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • An effective team player is a must.
