Job Title: Structural CAD Technician (Junior)

**Job Type**: Full-Time, Permanent

Work Setup: In-person office job

Job Location: DVM Engineering Inc., Mississauga, ON.

Key Responsibility:

- Prepare preliminary and detailed structural drawings for different stages of project cycle based on the architectural drawings, service drawings, sketches, and other relevant drawings and design data.
- Identify, discuss, and resolve potential constructability and practicability related issues before finalizing the structural drawings.
- Ensure prepared drawings comply with the company standards and requirements.
- Maintain and keep track of all the drawings as per company standards and requirements.
- Conduct site visits as and when required to collect data.
- Take site measurements to prepare as build drawings and prepare as build drawings.
- Effectively coordinate with design engineers and other team members to achieve work efficiency.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- A diploma in Architecture/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 2+ years of drafting experience in structural drafting preferred.
- Experience in working on wood, steel and RCC structures.
- Experience in working on new and renovation work for various structures.
- Must be aware of industry standard drafting practices.
- Must be knowledgeable in structural systems, configurations, and components.
- Ability to easily read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and other relevant drawings and various data.
- Basic understanding of construction practices for civil/structural fieldwork, construction methodology, and construction trade/products.
- Basic understanding of Standard Method of Measurement.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills.
- Capable of working on several projects in different stages.
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks independently.
- Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities.
- Effective team player, ability to work within a team and/or individually.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Positive, energetic, and confident.
- Goal-oriented attitude.
- Resourceful and self-motivated.
- Strong aptitude for adopting new technology and practices.

Software Skills:

- AutoCAD (Proficient) - Required
- MS Office (Proficient) - Required
- Revit (Working Knowledge) - Preferable

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON L5N 5M3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- AutoCAD: 2 years (required)
