National Head of Sales - Beer, Cider, RTD Apply for this role at MacDonald Search Group. Role Overview Our client, an industry leader in fast moving beverage alcohol, is seeking a top‑tier sales and business development leader to oversee business teams outside of Ontario, spanning Off- and On‑Premise channels. This role leads teams across key accounts, field sales, and third‑party partners, ensuring continued growth of a diverse alcoholic beverage portfolio across Beer, Cider, and RTD categories. The position is responsible for driving commercial performance in Western Canada, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces, setting direction, and executing strategy through strong leadership and collaboration. This role reports to the National Director of Sales & Marketing and is a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team. What You’ll Be Doing This position carries strategic, tactical, and operational responsibility. Success is measured through financial growth, volume growth, and team engagement. Develop, optimize, and execute the overall Sales strategy Ensure strong alignment between sales and marketing activities Lead P&Ls for Western Canada, Quebec, and the Atlantic regions Own route‑to‑market, sales, and execution strategies across these provinces Embed a strong performance management culture Lead annual commercial planning and budgeting processes Drive customer negotiations and support strong execution of commercial agreements Build, lead, and coach a high‑performing sales organization You act as a role model in leadership, commercial acumen, and solution‑oriented thinking. You thrive in hands‑on environments and enjoy being deeply involved in operations. Qualifications This role requires comfort in a fast‑paced environment with complex priorities and multiple stakeholders. Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and analytical rigor are essential. 7+ years of progressive experience in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development Deep understanding of sales functions, route‑to‑market, and trade marketing Strong track record in FMCG; experience in the beverage (Beer/RTD) category is a notable asset Experience driving performance through partners and third parties Highly analytical with strong data‑driven decision‑making skills Ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable plans Passion for customers, consumers, and category growth Strong execution discipline and follow‑through on strategic plans Excellent negotiation skills with a deep understanding of value management Proven leadership ability with experience building engaged, high‑performing teams Strong relationship‑building capabilities What We’re Looking For GTA‑based, with the ability to work from the local office (3x weekly in office) Strong presence and credibility within the beverage or FMCG industry Recent experience in Beer or RTD categories in Canada is a significant advantage Strong relationships with category buyers in relevant channels Structured, analytical, high‑drive, and hands‑on Excellent written and verbal communication skills Business development mindset with continuous improvement orientation Bilingual (English/French) an asset Ability to travel 20 - 25% What You Can Expect Ongoing learning, mentorship, and development opportunities Strong opportunities for career advancement within Canada and internationally Purpose‑driven culture with ambitious long‑term goals A collaborative, social, and supportive work environment The compensation package includes: competitive salary, variable bonus program, a comprehensive employer‑paid benefits package (health, dental, vision, HSA, life insurance), paid time off, RRSP matching, tuition reimbursement, remote‑work flexibility, company events, and a product benefit program.
