As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.We are seeking Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Students for our Canadian Industrial Division to work as an Estimating Student in our Edmonton, AB office. We are looking for students that are available for 4 or 8 months starting in May 2026. The positions will be under the direct supervisor of a Lead Estimator.As an Estimating Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding and utilizing PCL’s estimating manuals, systems and formsReviewing quantity survey assignment with lead estimatorPerforming assigned quantity surveyProviding quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricingTransferring and reviewing quantities with lead estimatorPerforming general subtrade solicitation dutiesBid document controlPerforming bid day assignmentsVisiting job sites periodicallyDeveloping relationships with trade contractorsOther duties as assigned by the lead estimatorQualificationsPursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical, electrical, or civil major.Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.Application of various computer software programs will be required, including Microsoft Suite.
