We are seeking an **Estimating Student **for our Latium Technology office in **Nisku, AB,** that is available for **8 months starting immediately**. This position will be under the direct supervisor of the Director, Product Development.

As an **Estimating Student**, your role involves assessing and estimating the requirements for IoT sensors in the appropriate industry. Here are some tasks you may perform in your role:
**Responsibilities**:

- Gathers information about the industrial environment, such as the type of industry, processes involved, machinery and equipment used, and specific parameters that need to be monitored. Analyze the existing infrastructure and identify potential areas where IoT sensors can be deployed.
- Determines the number of sensors needed based on the scale of the industrial operation. Considers factors such as the size of the facility, number of machines, production lines, and critical areas that require constant monitoring. Estimate the required quantity of sensors for each parameter to be monitored.
- Evaluates the existing infrastructure and connectivity options. Determines if there is a need for additional network infrastructure, such as wireless access points, gateways, or data concentrators, to support the IoT sensor deployment. Consider factors like signal range, interference, and connectivity reliability.
- Develops cost estimates for the IoT sensor deployment, including sensor acquisition costs, installation expenses, networking infrastructure, data storage, and maintenance. Considers both initial setup costs and ongoing operational expenses.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as engineers, technicians, and IT professionals, to ensure a smooth implementation of the IoT sensor deployment. Provides technical guidance and support during the installation, configuration, and integration phases.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in construction cost estimating.
- Knowledge of different construction methods; planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of estimating software, advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills and a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
