Our Medical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. LifeLabs facilities are also known as teaching laboratories and offer opportunities to share knowledge in a collaborative environment. You will have 24‑hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical Library, and the ability to teach our college and university student placements. Status: Temporary, Full Time (37.5 hours per week) End Date: 1 year upon start date Shift: Variable shifts with times between 6 am and midnight. No fixed rotation. Discipline: Microbiology. Successful applicant may be cross trained in the Urinalysis and/or Molecular departments based on operational needs. Your Responsibilities Will Include Conducting a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing. Prepare and process samples, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation. Performing, interpreting and releasing results, while ensuring the confidentiality of patient information. Identifying incidents and non-conformities, participating in the development of effective corrective action plans, escalating as appropriate and driving continuous improvement. Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of new technology. Participating in problem solving in work organization and workflow. Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards. What You Will Bring To The Role College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience. CSMLS registered and in good standing. Excellent communication skills to enable you to relate with a wide variety of people. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced team environment while adhering to LifeLabs standards of safety, accuracy and efficiency. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail who demonstrates curiosity. Ability to distinguish multiple colors. Strong computer skills in MS Office products, as well as laboratory analyzers. Problem solving skills, including the ability to identify and follow‑up on issues.
