This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Forensic Engineering & Architecture team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Mechanical Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of Mechanical Engineering, be flexible, and a strategic thinker capable of handling a variety of tasks.ResponsibilitiesConduct field inspections, loss analysis, testing, and data collectionPrepare technical reports detailing causes of damage or failure, damage observed, and test resultsPerform desk reviews and field assessments to develop repair scopeCollaborate with insured parties and contractors to agree on repair scopeReview and analyze building codes and industry standards, working with code officials as neededPresent analysis and assessment findings to colleagues and clientsResearch and develop technical topics for publicationManage multiple projects, ensuring timely and within-budget executionSupport client relationship retention and developmentQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferredRegistered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canadian provinces5-10 years of mechanical equipment/system design or related experienceForensic, failure analysis, or troubleshooting experienceExperience evaluating mechanical systems and conducting loss/condition assessmentsAnalytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPointSelf-motivated, team-oriented, and eager to learnAbility to travel to sites as neededPreferredP.Eng. in Ontario or QuebecExperience with machinery, equipment loss assessment, and industrial machineryExperience with failure analysis of electro-mechanical systemsInvolvement in major engineering projects and insurance loss investigationsPhysical and Mental RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsWillingness to travel and conduct field investigationsAbility to work in various environments, indoors and outdoorsPhysical ability to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periodsAdditional InformationWe support applicants with disabilities and offer reasonable accommodations upon request.
