Join to apply for the Structures Project Coordinator role at BA Blacktop Group of CompaniesCoquitlam Ridge Constructors, a specialized division for bridge-related projects within the BA Blacktop Group of Companies, is seeking a detail‑oriented Project Coordinator to join our team This role collaborates closely with the construction management team to support projects by managing contract administration and ensuring smooth project execution from start to finish.Site SafetyAssist in Pre‑Job Hazard Assessment and development of Site‑Specific Safety Plan in collaboration with the Superintendent & Safety DepartmentParticipate in the development of Work Plans for job‑specific tasksOngoing monitoring and identification of potential site hazards with Superintendent, Foreman, and Crew membersAssist in monitoring field operations for compliance with the Prime Contractor (where applicable), company delegation OH&S Manual, and WorkSafe BC regulations and guidelinesAssist in monitoring work to ensure it is carried out with consideration to potential 3rd party liabilitiesAssist in ensuring all on‑site workers & staff complete a Project Specific OrientationAssist in monitoring site cleanliness and housekeepingWhen required, participate in site‑related Incident InvestigationsAssist in monitoring cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and site facilitiesWhen on site, participate actively in Daily Work Plans, Site Inspections, & Tool Box MeetingsPerform a minimum of 10 Safety Tours per yearProject ExecutionAssist in developing project Quality Management Plan(s)Lead the development of Traffic Management Plan(s)Support Construction Manager with materials sourcing and procurement (Purchasing)Assist with submitting and maintaining mix designs, detailed drawings, shop drawings, and product dataAssist with submitting and maintaining source‑acceptance dataLead development and certification of Construction Engineering plans and designsSupport Superintendent(s) with developing, distributing, and maintaining Construction Layout DrawingsAssist the Construction Manager and Superintendent with Logistics planning and schedulingAssist with cost estimation, document preparation, and submission of RFCO responsesSupport accurate, timely completion of Daily Work Records and Extra Work Reports for monthly billingMaintenance of document logsLead and maintain Division’s Equipment Tracking systemAssist with site survey layout, including data compilation, modeling, and use of total stations and drone imagery for planning and as‑builtsQuality ManagementLead the maintenance of project documentation (SharePoint or project collaboration software)Lead the documentation and reporting for project‑related NCR’s, RAR’s, OFI’sParticipate in the Integrated Management System internal auditing processTraining and DevelopmentSeek and engage in skill‑development opportunitiesSupport professional growth of Foreman and key crew membersQualificationsEssential Qualifications2+ years of experience coordinating projectsExperience in bridge construction activities and processes, or structural concreteFamiliarity with applicable standard specifications (MoTI, MMCD, WorkSafe, and Traffic Management)Self‑starting and motivatedAble to remain effective and decisive in stressful situationsDemonstrated understanding and respect for corporate and divisional reporting structureStrong communication skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsDemonstrated desire to learnDemonstrated attention to detailAbility to read and interpret site plans/blueprints and look up specifications from MoTI / MMCDHave a working knowledge of typical construction phasing processes (startup, execution, close‑out)Have a working knowledge of change management proceduresHave strong site‑level Survey and Layout skills working from control pointsComputer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, ERP software, Civil3D, S‑Frame, & project collaboration systemsDesirable QualificationsDiploma in Civil and Structural Engineering TechnologyEligibility for AScT CertificationBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Related FieldGold Seal Certification – Project ManagerPMPAdditional Comments On The RoleThe Structures Project Coordinator is a key developmental position within the company.
