The Governance Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Governance Office by contributing to the effective delivery of Gore Mutual’s enterprise-wide Governance Program. This position supports the delivery of the Policy Governance Program; Fair Treatment of Consumers Program; and Conduct and Ethics Program.What will you do?Policy Governance Program delivery and Project ManagementGovernance research and bench marking including board and corporate level governing mandates, frameworks, and policiesDeveloping and maintaining a centralized and current repository of internal governing documents and templatesPolicy communication and education sessions with businessLiaison with business for policy inquiries and supportGovernance mailbox monitoring and maintenanceIntranet site – internal governing documents – maintenanceGoverning office reporting supportProject management and special projects supportFair Treatment of Consumers Program delivery supportIntake and initial acknowledgement responseInitial inquiry and investigation with businessRecording and monitoring in OnspringResponse support and trackingBetter Business Bureau investigation and response supportOmbudsman mailbox monitoring and maintenanceConduct & Ethics Program delivery support - WhistleblowerIntake and initial acknowledgement response supportInitial inquiry and investigation with business supportRecording and monitoring in Convercent and OnspringResponse support and trackingGovernance Office Delivery and Response SupportExtra-provincial registrationsChief Agent filingsPrimary regulator continuous disclosure filingsFiling management in OnspringGoverning regulatory filingsInitial response to Governing regulator inquiriesCorporate Governance mailbox supportInquiry intake and response supportRecords ManagementOnspring maintenanceWhat will you need?5 years of progressive experience in one or more of the following areas: Governance; Project Management; Corporate Secretarial or Legal; Compliance, Audit or Risk ManagementDiploma from a recognized community college in Governance, Project Management, Corporate Law, or Corporate Secretarial studies (preferred)Strong understanding of corporate governance frameworks and policy managementFamiliarity with federal and provincial regulatory requirementsKnowledge of the insurance industry, with preference for property and casualtyExperience with compliance management technology platformsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational abilities and attention to detailAbility to work independently and proactivelySkilled in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders#LI-HybridAccessibility for applicantsGore Mutual Insurance Company is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities during all phases of the recruiting process, including the application process.If you require accommodation because of a disability, we will work with you to meet your needs.
