**Sustainability Specialist**
The role is responsible for contributing to AIL’s culture by exhibiting collaboration, curiosity, resilience, leadership, and accountability in a manner which supports AIL’s employee wellness, environmental sustainability, and profitability. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Sustainability Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting AIL Group’s Net Zero and Sustainability journey. Periodic travel is expected.
**Responsibilities**
- Co-ordinate AIL Group’s sustainability strategies and programs, with a Net Zero as a focus.
- Co-ordinate and execute net zero projects which are on-time, on-budget, and yield their intended sustainability impact.
- Responsible for increasing internal awareness and engagement of AIL’s net zero initiatives and fostering AIL’s sustainability culture.
- Create, administer, and deliver sustainability related organizational tools and training.
- Administer internal and external sustainability reporting and key performance indicators.
- Identify and manage sustainability funding opportunities.
- Research and identify relevant external sustainability activities in the marketplace, academia and governments. Connect activities to relevant internal parties and support as required.
- Facilitate reviews, meetings, and presentations as required.
- Co-ordinate environmental certifications, including internal auditing as applicable.
- Other duties, as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering, Environment and Business, Environmental/Civil Engineering, or related fields an asset.
- Experience in Energy Management or leading Energy Efficiency initiatives considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles and practices.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently and achieve results through collaboration with others.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Skilled in organization, planning, and attention to detail.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Able to identify and facilitate closure of root causes.
- Able to analyze data including root cause identification and continuous improvement execution.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
