Overview Join to apply for the INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT LIAISON, METIS NATION role at Northern Health - BC. Responsibilities Reporting to the Lead, Indigenous Health Engagement and Integration and working closely with Métis Nation BC’s leadership, the Liaison facilitates the learning about and incorporation of Métis cultural approaches to wellness and health into services provided by Northern Health. The role focuses on promoting and improving culturally safe, inclusive, and respectful care for Métis people throughout their healthcare journey. The Liaison builds communication networks and positive relationships with Métis Chartered Communities, facilitates educational opportunities for NH staff and physicians, develops guidelines for NH service teams, and actively contributes to the planning and implementation of initiatives agreed to with Métis Nation BC in the Northern Region Métis Health and Wellness Plan. The Liaison participates in the Northern Health Métis AHIC (Aboriginal Health Improvement Committee) and reports to the NH Indigenous Health team. Qualifications Priority consideration will be given to Indigenous applicants. Candidates should have a background or demonstrated experience in Indigenous health engagement, community partnership, or related fields, along with the educational, training, and experiential requirements for this role.
