Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking an Indigenous Engagement Liaison, Métis Nation to join the Indigenous Health team.
Reporting to the Lead, Indigenous Health Engagement and Integration, and working closely with Métis Nation BC's leadership, and Métis Chartered Community leadership and representatives, the Indigenous Engagement Liaison, Métis Nation (the Liaison) facilitates the learning about and incorporation of Métis cultural approaches to wellness and health into the services provided to Métis people by Northern Health. The Liaison's role focuses on promoting and improving culturally safe, inclusive, and respectful care and services for Métis people throughout their health care journey. To support the exchange of information and the problem-solving of care pathways for Métis people, the Liaison proactively builds strong communication networks and positive relationships with Métis Chartered Communities across Northern Health. To support deep and respectful learning about the Métis Nation, the Liaison contributes to and facilitates educational opportunities for NH staff and Physicians, develops guidelines for NH service teams, and actively contributes to the planning and implementation of initiatives agreed to with Métis Nation BC in the Northern Region Métis Health and Wellness Plan. To ensure continuous development and positive communication, The Liaison participates on the Northern Health Métis AHIC (Aboriginal Health Improvement Committee), reporting to AHIC on behalf of the NH Indigenous Health team and reporting out to the NH Indigenous Health team on a regular basis.
Starting salary will be approximately from $74,618 to $93,273 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
