Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager oversees all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting. This role leads financial statement preparation, internal controls, and period‑end closings, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis. It is a key driver of continuous improvement, helping build a unified reporting structure for IMT Precision, collaborating with corporate and divisional partners, and promoting financial best practices. This role is ideal for a self‑motivated leader with strong initiative, ready to make a strategic and tactical impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment. About You Maintain strict confidentiality and act with integrity Thrive in a fast‑paced and evolving environment Take initiative and act independently (self‑starter) Lead and implement ERP and process improvement initiatives Translate financial data into business insights Work under pressure with precision and timelines Align financial operations with organisational goals Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive results Education & Experience Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field CPA or CMA designation preferred 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Minimum 3 years of plant‑level accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Leadership experience, including: Hiring, assessing, and developing employees Managing external audit processes Experience collaborating with operations and cross‑functional teams Exposure to ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics Experience with cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting Knowledge GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Cost Accounting methodologies: Standard costing Activity‑based costing Inventory valuation and production cost analysis Familiarity with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) Internal controls and compliance processes ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) Database query/reporting tools (e.g. Atlas) Tax compliance and year‑end tax filings Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel Proficiency in ERP systems Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis Financial analysis and KPI development Written and verbal communication Staff development and team building Cross‑functional collaboration (Finance, IT, Operations) Stakeholder management (auditors, plant staff, senior leaders) Organisational and time management Process improvement and change implementation Close management (month, quarter, year‑end) Strategic financial planning and reporting Benefits Of Working At IMT Extensive Health & Dental Coverage Defined contribution Pension Plan Annual Bonus Program Competitive Wages Job‑Security (Long outstanding and growing company) On‑the‑job training Professional designation fee paid Tuition Reimbursement Employee Referral Program Social Events/Activities Years of Service Program About IMT Precision IMT Precision is one of Canada’s leading major manufacturers in the OEM and Defence industries.
