Position Responsibilities Responsible for the preventative maintenance and servicing of City buildings and heating plants. Does not perform any work that requires licensed tradespersons, unless the worker is licensed in that trade. Performs other facilities-related duties as assigned. Required to be on call for one week per rotation (approximately 3‑4 times per year). Qualifications Our ideal candidate is a skilled, safety‑focused professional with strong mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to maintenance. You take pride in keeping building and plant systems operating reliably, follow procedures with precision, and identify issues before they escalate. Thriving in a team environment, you are adaptable, dependable, and take ownership of your work. Above all, you are a service‑minded individual who understands that your efforts directly support the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of City facilities for the community. Requires a valid Alberta Driver’s License (Class 5 minimum). Requires Power Engineering 5th Class Certification. Basic computer skills. High School Diploma. Assets Related To This Position Include Knowledge of building management systems, swimming pool, and arena mechanical systems. Experience in building maintenance. Experience as arena operator. Experience as pool operator. Certification in First Aid, WHMIS, and TDG. Hours The standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
