Job Category: EnergyLocation: Saskatoon, SK, Canada Key Responsibilities Lead a team of Electrical Engineers, Designers, and CAD personnel to deliver high‑quality electrical engineering and design work on time and within budget. Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and quality assurance for all electrical deliverables. Prepare and review calculations, equipment specifications, and vendor documentation. Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications. Develop conceptual designs, studies, reports, and proposals. Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications. Visit project sites and other Hatch design offices as required. Serve as Project Manager or Engineering Lead on select projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and resource planning. Coordinate with multi‑discipline teams to ensure seamless project execution. Track project metrics and proactively manage risks and issues. Ensure effective communication with internal teams and client stakeholders. Actively contribute to client relationship management, identifying new opportunities and maintaining ongoing engagement. Support proposal development, including scope definition, estimating, and client presentations. Collaborate on strategic plans for market growth. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and credibility. Experience in the Hydropower industry is a great asset. Familiarity with designing and maintaining electrical systems in hydroelectric power plants. Lead design of power systems (diagrams, layouts, detailed drawings for switchgear, control panels, and power distribution centers). Select and size electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and control panels. Develop commissioning procedures and supervise commissioning testing. Familiarity with SCADA systems design and operation, and other plant control systems. Experience with CIA (Connection Impact Assessments) and SIA (System Impact Assessments). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or another Canadian province. 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an EPCM environment for industrial or energy sector projects. Proven experience in project management and/or client‑facing roles. Knowledge of industry, regulatory codes and standards. Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and electrical design tools (e.g., SPEL, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, ASPEN). Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams and dynamic environments. Advanced computer skills. Why Join Us? Work with great people to make a difference.
