Join us in shaping the future of policing in Alberta Role Responsibilities The Indigenous Policing Services Unit oversees province-wide Indigenous policing initiatives, including 45 agreements across 37 communities and support for those exploring safety options. Reporting to the Director, you’ll provide strategic leadership and operational support, foster collaboration with governments, police services, and Indigenous partners to create safe, secure communities. Other Duties Include But Are Not Limited To Supporting Indigenous communities and Métis Settlements in managing and implementing policing agreements. Providing strategic advice to commissions and governance bodies to identify priorities and monitor policing needs. Assisting with negotiation and renewal of agreements, ensuring compliance and cultural sensitivity. Developing performance measures and monitor financial and operational compliance across agreements. Building and maintaining respectful relationships with stakeholders, resolving conflicts and fostering collaboration. Communicating clearly and operating independently while advancing departmental objectives. In This Role You Must Be Comfortable Working collaboratively with indigenous communities and law enforcement. Engaging with stakeholders at varying levels. Qualifications University graduation plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below. Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
