**Salary**: $$2,757.39 to 3,604.17 bi-weekly ($71,968 - $94,069/year)
The Police Review Commission (PRC) will be responsible for overseeing the police complaints process for all police services in Alberta and will have approximately 150 staff. Following implementation, the PRC will be at the forefront of leading and supporting police services through a significant change in process and philosophy.
**Role Responsibilities**:

The Police Review Commission is looking to hiring an Indigenous Liaison that will work hand in hand with the CEO preparing engagement materials and at time delivering them on behalf of the CEO.
The Indigenous Liaison, reporting to the Manager of Engagement and Change Management, is responsible for fostering trust and collaboration with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous community partners. This role involves meeting and communicating with various Indigenous communities and organizations and representing the Police Review Commission's interests during external engagements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and execution of the Police Review Commission's engagement strategy.
- Measuring the results of engagement efforts.
- Providing expertise on community perspectives, public education, and relationship management to the Police Review Commission staff.
As the Indigenous Liaison you must use your experience and specialized knowledge to handle politically and emotionally sensitive discussions while representing the Police Review Commission. You will often meet independently with Indigenous communities, relying solely on your understanding of Indigenous culture, history, protocol, and police oversight.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:
- University degree in Communication, Indigenous Relations or any other related field with 4 years of related experience.
**Equivalency**: _Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education_
**Required**:
- Sound understanding of Indigenous history in Canada as well as awareness of the diversity that exists among the Indigenous population in Alberta
**Assets**:
- Previous experience working with Indigenous people and communities
- Ability to speak an Alberta Indigenous language fluently (Cree, Blackfoot, Dene, Stoney, Nakota Sioux)
- Experience engaging with and writing for Indigenous people and stakeholders at varying levels.
- Working knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, protocol.
