Live shopping is a natural extension of eBay’s ethos —highlighting unique items, collectibles, and fashion while enabling real-time interaction between buyers and sellers. This is a relatively new trend in the US and Europe, growing quickly, and is already broadly established in APAC.We are looking to hire a passionate, collaborative and motivated Staff-Senior Staff level Frontend Software Engineer, who will help us develop and evolve eBay Live to be a market leader in live shopping and become a key part of the global eBay platform.Join us to make an impact on one of the world’s largest e-commerce websites. What You\'ll Do And LearnIndependently lead complex technical initiatives within and beyond your team.Lead engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an "always-on" 24/7 site.Drive technical direction and roadmap, leads across domain teams and guides others towards the right technical decisions.Authors ADRs (Architecture Decision Records) that serves as blueprint or a proposed solution for a given technical problem and influences overall tech strategyResponsible for one or more large functional areas possessing in-depth knowledge and expertise.Demonstrate strong systems mindset, go beyond immediate needs, proactively addressing performance, security, and future-proofing solutionsTake ownership of complex projects, driving them from conception to successful implementation.Change agency to set high bar and uplevel across teams on culture, process and engineering practices. Check out our benefits here: https://www.ebaybenefits.com/index.html.QualificationsBachelor\'s degree in EE, CS or other related field.10+ years of experience in building large scale, distributed web platforms/APIs with 6+ years as an architect/technical lead responsible for the end to end product scope across multiple domains.Experience in creating and driving technical strategy and roadmap across multiple domains. Balanced trade-offs to ship scalable solutions supporting long-term goals.Successfully forged alignments with key stakeholders on significant architecture decisions and technical direction for ambiguous problem areas.Developed and drove adoption of technical practices that improved team velocity to deliver high-quality code across the organization.Solid knowledge in end to end system design from frontend to backend involving JavaScript frameworks, Rest APIs, Messaging Systems, RDBMS/NOSQL, Containers, Infrastructure layer, with deep knowledge in several key components.
