This is a fast‑moving, multi‑disciplinary group responsible for production‑level common and carrier‑related componentry for our underground mining product lines.The Controls team within the group is responsible for carrier‑related electrical, hydraulic, cooling and fire suppression systems, including hardware specification, hose/cable management, physical layouts and schematics/diagrams.The Team Lead role is designed to work closely alongside the Product Engineering Manager with a dedicated team within the larger group. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, overseeing and reporting on product/project specific goals and assigned tasks within your team.Ideal Candidate ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have experience in several of the following areas:Mobile equipment design and manufacturingInterpretation of International, National and local standards and regulations24V Electrical system designHigh‑Voltage DC electrical systems, and/or Battery Electric Vehicle systems designClosed‑center hydraulic system designTemperature management system designFire Suppression systems on mobile equipmentTypical DutiesTypical duties in this role will include:Lead a team of 5–7 people including one‑on‑one meetings, time approvals, performance appraisals, & supporting goals and objectives definitionSupporting hiring efforts for team growthCreating and managing project scope development for single projectDefining project resource requirementsSupporting Engineering manager with high‑level planning and road map developmentSupporting down‑stream departments with technical issuesEssential QualificationsThe successful candidate must be willing to learn, open‑minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:Engineering Diploma or Degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution10+ years of off‑highway equipment development experience1–2 years of people leadership experienceExpertise in at least one of the experience criteria listed aboveProficient in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint)Proficient in CAD modeling software (Preference for Solid Works, DraftSight and AutoCAD)Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, proficiency in other languages is an assetThis position will be located in one of our Collingwood (Raglan St.), Owen Sound (6th St.) or Sudbury (Pine St.) offices.ClosingInspired by over 50 years of pioneering excellence, MacLean Engineering continues to lead the way in underground mining equipment solutions.
