Job Summary As a Supplier Quality Specialist, you play a key role in ensuring the quality of products or services provided by our suppliers. You contribute to ensuring that products meet quality standards, which can positively impact customer satisfaction and the company's reputation. Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Implement, train, and provide ongoing support to suppliers regarding Distech Controls' quality management system processes and quality concepts in manufacturing facilities as needed. Participate in the selection of potential suppliers by assessing their ability to meet the company's quality requirements, including evaluating their quality historical performance, certifications, technical capabilities, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with Sourcing, Research and Development, Production Technology, and Production departments to establish quality criteria that suppliers must adhere to. Define technical specifications, quality standards, performance requirements, and applicable regulations. Conduct regular audits at suppliers to assess compliance with defined quality criteria. Perform on-site inspections, review manufacturing processes, evaluate performance tests, and analyze results to identify potential issues. Continuously monitor action plans and improvement initiatives with various suppliers. In case of non-compliance or significant quality issues identified with a supplier, work with them to implement corrective actions. Assist in identifying root causes of quality issues, propose solutions, and monitor implementation to prevent recurrence. Continuously monitor supplier performance in terms of quality. Collect and analyze data, establish performance indicators, and identify emerging trends or issues. This monitoring helps anticipate risks and implement preventive measures. Collaborate with suppliers to promote continuous improvement in their quality performance. Offer training, advice, and recommendations to optimize production processes, reduce defects, and enhance customer satisfaction. Maintain ethical and close relationships with suppliers, ensuring clear communication and fostering collaboration. Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues, build capabilities, and encourage innovation. Skills and Minimum Experience Required Bilingual French and English: To serve clients and external service providers across Canada and USA. Spanish proficiency is an asset. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience. Training in quality management and assurance is an asset. Internal or external auditor certification is an asset. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is an asset. 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role. Expertise in FMEA, root cause analysis, and recognized problem-solving methodologies. Ability to document issues systematically. Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of internal stakeholders. Willingness to adapt quickly to changing environments and contribute to various projects. Ability to learn new processes and skills to undertake projects. Strong leadership skills, good listening ability, and willingness to collaborate. Valid driver's license. Travel Requirements Frequent travel required outside of Canada, up to 50% of the time.
