Reporting to the AVP, Group Market Risk Manager, the Group Market Risk Analyst is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Bank’s ALM financial model. Additionally, the Group Market Risk Analyst will support the ongoing refinement, development, and quality assurance of all Market Risk-related reporting. The successful candidate will also assist in developing liquidity-related forecasts and supporting technology and reporting projects. About the Team Butterfield’s Group Market Risk Management is a highly technical area aimed at reducing Butterfield’s exposure to market risk in the banking book. This team works to protect Butterfield’s performance and reputation by identifying, assessing, and minimizing risk across our business. Our risk professionals analyse impending risks and control exposure to market risk in the banking book given our risk profile, whether addressing the implications of economic changes or providing leaders with the information and insight they need to make informed decisions. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting with periodic end-to-end balance sheet modelling. Producing timely and quality reporting related to group-wide liquidity on a daily basis. Analysing data, systems, and situations to formulate recommendations for the continuous development of the Bank’s asset and liability management (ALM) capabilities. Producing committee and Board reports related to Market Risk in the banking book tolerance and imperatives. Collecting and maintaining historical data and reporting solutions to enable liquidity trend and behavioural analysis across the Group. Monitoring of the business environment related to market risk in the banking book modelling and associated data analytics. Assisting the market risk team with updating and improving internal documents and processes related to management of Market Risk in the banking book. Other duties as assigned. Your qualifications and skills include: Post-secondary degree with a focus on business or finance. Minimum of four years of work experience in finance, accounting, and/or risk management. Strong knowledge of financial markets and the banking domain. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (PowerQuery, PivotTables). Knowledge of treasury and capital markets is an asset. Familiarity with SQL and ALM software (e.g., QRM, ZMdesk) would be an asset. A proactive individual with good interpersonal skills who is comfortable working in a team. Strong written and oral communication skills. Why Butterfield?
