Overview Company: Emera, Enterprise Risk Management Department: Corporate Enterprise Risk Management Location: Halifax, NS Closing Date: January 2, 2026 This is a permanent position reporting to the Senior Risk Manager. Key Responsibilities Develop expertise in energy risk management and Horizon, Emera’s ETRM system (training and support provided). Daily monitoring of energy trading activities to ensure compliance with Board mandated policy limits. Produce and distribute risk reports to senior management. Support structured analysis of long‑term deals and related reporting. Perform ad‑hoc risk analysis and detailed calculations. Support the month‑end financial close and mark‑to‑market reporting. Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk Management team and internal customers. Qualifications and Skills Proficient MS Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of VBA, SQL, Power BI valued. 2+ years as a Financial Analyst or equivalent with emphasis on risk management or analytical work. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. CFA or other designation desirable. Experience or willingness to develop knowledge of the Energy Industry. Strong finance, mathematics, statistics background; ability to understand complex concepts. Experience with risk metrics and/or statistical applications; energy trading or relevant platforms a plus. Excellent communication, multi‑tasking, and detail‑oriented. Perks Hybrid work model.
