As a full-service architecture, interior design, and construction studio, we are looking to bring on a professional who is a self-starter and organized to carry out the duties below. This position will offer the opportunity to collaborate with our internal design team and to work with some of the most successful and affluent homeowners and business people across Canada.QualificationsDegree in Interior DesignMinimum 10 years of experience in interior design, the production of interior design drawings, and managing the production of deliverables from Schematic Design through to Construction AdministrationExperience in luxury houses and multi-unit mid-rise / high-rise residential preferred. Experience in other building types and architecture is an asset.Strong understanding of building systems, detailing, and construction methodsSkilled in developing hand drawings and sketches of design ideasFluent in current design trends, products, and resourcesExcellent understanding of the language of classical design and Audax’s design philosophy of Human ArchitectureHigh level of skill with Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applicationsHand drawing skillsExperience in the production of high-quality computer renderings and presentation materialsWell-organized and detail-oriented problem solver with excellent time management skillsPersonable with excellent presentation skillsExcellent English written and verbal communication skillsKey ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Principals and Director of Interior Design to develop the project narrative and design directionManage staff workflow to ensure the project is within the set budget and scheduleDirect and assist with the production of all drawings and deliverables throughout all phases of assigned projectsReview all project drawings and deliverablesAct as primary consultant liaisonDirect the team’s coordination with the project consultants, ensuring proactive efforts to meet deadlines are consistently maintainedCollaborate with the Architecture and Construction departments to foster synergy among the three, operating as one cohesive entityProvide competent technical expertise in the design of assigned projectsEnsure maximum project efficiency by driving the team’s initiatives to full capacity, minimizing downtimeCoordinate all activities related to assigned projects and maintain minutes as requiredPrepare progress reports, as necessarySupervise, direct, and mentor junior staffServe as an advocate for Human Architecture and embody the Audax mission statement in all facets of workPromote core values of teamwork, quality design, professionalism, and high client serviceProvide insights and recommendations for improving processes and practices to continuously enhance project outcomesBenefitsGiven our 3 practice areas, you will have a unique and in-depth learning experience, provided by exposure to the day-to-day functions of architecture, interior design, and constructionThe opportunity to work with the best of the best, including the finest trades and craftsmen, the highest quality materials and finishes, along with some of the most successful and affluent homeowners and business people across Canada and internationallyThe move to a new, custom-built office located directly across the street from Trinity Bellwoods Park, just steps away from the shops and restaurants of Queen Street West, Dundas Street West, Little Italy, and Ossington Avenue.
