As Senior Systems Analyst based in Regina, Saskatchewan, you will bring previous experience working with AS400/IBMi and RPG as a Systems Analyst, Business Support Systems Analyst/Specialist, Billing & Revenue Management Specialist, Senior software Programmer or similar role. Your leadership skills will complement a skilled IT technical team as you undertake a province-wide project, migrating to the latest in telecommunications systems technology. Reporting to the Senior Department Manager, you will: Work closely with stakeholders and technical teams to gather, understand, analyze and determine their needs. Assess existing processes and systems to identify issues, inefficiencies and gaps/areas for improvement. Prepare reports, develop process maps and document workflows. Recommend solutions to resolve issues and develop analysis reports to highlight the cost benefit of proposed changes. Recommend and develop systems requirements and solutions architectures. Design and implement custom technology solutions to address operational and organizational challenges. Work closely with IT teams on system implementation and integration, keeping budgets and deadlines in mind, while also ensuring system quality and performance. Develop specifications, process flows, diagrams, and coding logic flowcharts to guide system development. Encode, test, debug, and install the operating programs and procedures, coordinating with software developers, IT professionals, and other stakeholders. Design, develop and maintain data models, databases and systems to enable gathering, processing and analysis of large data sets. Monitor performance and issues; implement necessary updates or fixes. Maintain or update s/w programs to adapt to new technological advancements. Stay current with industry trends and advancements to propose innovative solutions and improvements. Candidate requirements include: EDUCATION: A Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Certificate in Business Analytics and/or Project Management is an asset. EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in RPG programming, AS400/IBM i operating systems and DB2 database management is required. Experience with legacy platform migration to a new system, i.e. from AS400 to a new system. Experience/knowledge in ERP, Billing systems, CRM, Order management, product catalog, and field management system configuration is a strong preference. Experience in programming languages, system architecture and database management is essential, along with experience in a telecommunications environment. TECHNICAL SKILLS: Strong computer literacy in programming languages, database management, systems, and software development. Knowledge/experience in IBMi programming languages, i.e. RPG/RPGLE, CLLE and/or SQL. An understanding of software development methodologies, i.e. SDLC, Agile, Scrum. Hands-on experience using integrated development environments (IDEs), version control systems (i.e. Git), project management tools (i.e. Asana, Jira), collaboration platforms (i.e. Slack), and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and API gateway services. Experience with requirement-gathering tools and techniques. Knowledge of Project Management principles, ITIL, and ITSM framework. Experience with development on the Creatio CRM platform. Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Hours of Work: Mon-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Flexibility of hours is available after completion of the probation period.
