Act as Test Director and lead multi‑disciplinary employees during system testing. Conduct equipment troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and corrective maintenance. Determine solutions to moderate‑to‑high‑complexity problems and communicate technical issues to all stakeholders. Lead small to medium teams and deliver assigned projects or tasks. Mentor other Test Specialists. Record defects using Babcock Canada IT applications. Respond to Commissioning Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements in a shipyard waterfront environment. Draft and review test documentation, work instructions, lockout/tagout documents. Identify risks and opportunities during testing and maintenance. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Post‑secondary education in electrical engineering technology or equivalent experience. Registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) or eligibility to complete registration within 12 months. 8+ years of related technical experience. Experience in marine, offshore oil and gas drilling, naval vessel or submarine operations is an asset. Experience operating, testing or commissioning electrical systems. Physical ability to climb, descend ladders and stairs; walk or stand for extended periods; work in confined spaces; work on scaffolding and around water; work in an industrial environment with moving equipment. Knowledge of alternating current systems, power distribution control systems, direct current control systems, motor controls, generators, lead‑acid or lithium‑ion battery systems, fibre‑optic applications, UPS and switching. Awareness of functional and non‑functional system performance testing in new construction or retro‑commissioning. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including MS Office. Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR clearance.
