Responsibilities:Adhering to SLAsITIL Processes awareness and adhering toMentoring / Training Team MembersHandling tickets / requestsPerform root cause analysisTroubleshooting technical issuesDefining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered toOversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migrationEnsure maximum uptime according to the SLAUnderstanding of Multi-geo support environmentResponsible for building / maintaining a test environmentResponsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenarioImproves and maintains customer and employee satisfactionSuggests new technologies and design changesMonitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team membersPlanning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation supportSuggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security levelTesting / Auditing/processes as required from time to timeIdentify Skill gaps and plan for training / knowledge updatingAssist / Plan / Procedure in Data centre consolidation effortsPerform H/W & performance tuning and maintenanceDay-to-Day reporting analysis tasksVendor co-ordination & followupTechnical Requirements:Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux Servers / Virtualization (Mass DC Deployment)Installation and configuration of HA environment using Linux cluster or Veritas Cluster.Configuration and administration of LVM and Veritas logical volume manager.Installing and Maintaining kick start environmentPatch and Package administration (Mass Package management using Satellite/Yum etc)Printer AdministrationWriting shell scripts to accomplish day to day system administration taskConfiguring and supporting domainsTroubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issueAdminister and configure various FS like JFS,ext2, ext3, OCFS & Pseudo FSCapacity planning and fine tune system for optimal performanceKnowledge on Apache virtual hosting, SSL website configUnderstanding of SAN and NAS storage.Administration of NIS or LDAP environmentConfiguring Unix Security baselinePerformance Management & fine tuningExperience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planningSolution Design ExperienceSoft Skills:Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written)Good documentation skillsGood working knowledge of MS OFFICE (Including MS Project and Visio)Should have great customer handling skillsAble to handle unforeseen situationsHigh level of acceptanceCan drive HCL's value and its methodologyOther Skills / Experience:Experience Solution Design and ArchitectureWorked on Production systemsDatacenter understandingExperience with Server Migration, Installation, Upgrades and PatchingExperience on following will be added advantage:SambaDNSNIS+Sendmail / Exim / Postfix / QmailLDAPMonitoring Tools (like BMC Patrol, Client openview, IBM Tivoli)Prior experience for new project due diligence, transition and audit per standard.
