Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
- Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to ensure system integrity.
- Maintain servers, file systems, storage, and network configurations.
- Configure and support services such as Apache/Nginx, DNS, DHCP, SSH, FTP, Samba, etc.
- Automate tasks using scripts (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V) and cloud-hosted Linux servers.
- Monitor system logs and respond to security incidents or system alerts.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations.
- Collaborate with DevOps, network, and security teams on infrastructure improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or System Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
- Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of system services (Apache/Nginx, crontab, SSH, systemd).
- Expertise in shell scripting (Bash), with additional scripting knowledge (Python/Perl) preferred.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, VirtualBox).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routing).
- Experience with backup and recovery tools.
- Strong understanding of system security and hardening practices.
- Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is an asset.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Linux certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, LPIC-1/2.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).

Pay: $50,360.77-$105,965.66 per year
