Job Description We are looking for a Financial Accountant who will be responsible for overseeing our financial statements, management reporting (MFR), and contributing to annual internal and external every year auditing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and auditing practices to the financial services industry in Canada. Key Responsibilities Financial Statement Preparation:Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with CIRO regulations. Management Reporting (MFR):Compile and analyze Management Financial Reports to provide insights into the company’s financial performance, trends, and areas for improvement. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify key performance indicators, variances, and opportunities for optimization. Provide recommendations to senior management based on analysis findings. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis reports. Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and regulatory examinations. Prepare necessary schedules and documentation to support audit procedures. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance department to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.CPAdesignation is required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within thefinancial industry. Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis. Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Mandarin and English is an asset. Canada Accounting Standards, CIRO regulations, and auditing experience is an asset. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
