You will apply your expertise in ERP systems, process improvement, and bill of materials (BoM) management to support our fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams in production, procurement, quality, and project management, you will develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards. This is an existing, full‑time vacancy, working 5 days per week on‑site at our Scarborough manufacturing facility. What’s in it for you Impact and innovation. As our new Manufacturing Engineer, you will: Manage master files and BoMs. You will define and maintain essential production master files, including Item Masters, Phantoms, Process Plans, and Job Plans. You will ensure that BoM data is accurately loaded into ERP systems and aligned with material allocations and production planning. You will collaborate with estimating and cost accounting to support cost analysis and reconciliation. Drive process improvement. You will develop and implement efficient material management and production scheduling workflows. You will optimize routing processes for raw materials, subassemblies, and components. You will apply strategies such as Vendor‑Managed Inventory (VMI), Kanban, and Point‑of‑Use Material processes to enhance resource utilization and minimize lead times. Manage change control. You will assess the impact of engineering BoM changes on ongoing production, inventory, and procurement. You will ensure that all changes are accurately reflected in BoMs, process plans, and master files. By collaborating with key stakeholders, you will proactively manage material conflicts, delays, and change impacts. Analyze production performance. You will monitor and analyze production data, including direct and indirect hours, rework rates, and job exceptions. You will conduct time studies to ensure routing accuracy and generate detailed reports using Summary Sheets and KPIs. Through data‑driven insights, you will identify bottlenecks and opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensure safety and compliance. You will uphold all company safety, quality, and environmental policies. You will report any health and safety concerns to management and help maintain a safe, organized work environment. You have: The education. You have a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or a college diploma in a relevant technical discipline and related experience or training. P.Eng is an asset. The experience. You have experience in manufacturing engineering, production planning, or materials management. Experience in Make‑to‑Order manufacturing environments is preferred. While not required, certifications such as APICS CPIM or a Supply Chain Management Certification are considered an asset. Experience interpreting CAD drawings and applying data analysis for process optimization is also beneficial. The technical expertise. You are proficient in using ERP tools to support master file maintenance, routing and BOM definitions, performance analysis, and plans. You have a detailed understanding of the company’s policies and procedures for operational transactions and reporting. You are proficient with computer applications to support analysis and reporting requirements, including Microsoft Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and Macros. Experience with Power Query and BI tools is an asset. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is also preferred. The analytical mindset. You excel at using data analysis to solve complex manufacturing challenges. You can conduct time studies, assess BoM accuracy, and develop actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency. Your problem‑solving abilities drive measurable improvements in cost, quality, and lead times. The drive. You are familiar with the business processes and practices used by discrete manufacturers with a make‑to‑order production policy. You have strong organizational and time‑management skills and can work within project timelines with limited supervision. You have a demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to complete assigned project activities. The interpersonal skills. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are comfortable collaborating across departments and presenting technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Your organizational and project management skills enable you to manage multiple priorities effectively and drive initiatives to completion. Compensation: The salary range for this role is $70,000-$85,000 CAD annually. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set, and alignment with our internal compensation framework.
