OverviewDartmouth, NS — Instrumentation Technician – Building Automation (Siemens Focus). Cahill Technical Services (CTS), a division of The Cahill Group, is seeking an Instrumentation Technician with a strong interest or background in Siemens Building Automation Systems to support our Building Controls & Commissioning team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In this role, you will support the installation, programming, commissioning, and ongoing optimization of Siemens-based building automation systems across commercial and institutional projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure high-quality, reliable system delivery.Location: Dartmouth, NS (Hybrid)Travel Requirement: Regular business travel – job site dependentTraining & Development: Ongoing technical and professional development opportunities availableWhat You’ll DoProgram, configure, and support Siemens BAS controllers and associated field devicesPerform point-to-point checks, sensor calibration, pre-testing, and commissioning activitiesTroubleshoot and repair control systems using working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, hydronic, and DDC systemsSupport installation teams with technical guidance and on-site issue resolutionAssist with panel assembly, wiring verification, and quality checksParticipate in system turnovers, commissioning debriefs, and project meetingsProvide system training and support to clients as requiredReview drawings, specifications, and sequences to ensure alignment with project intentSupport energy efficiency initiatives, testing, and verification activitiesInterest in learning design using AutoCAD and Bluebeam, preparing them for seamless field installationCoordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve cohesive system integration across all phases of the project.What We’re Looking ForInstrumentation, Electrical, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma (or equivalent experience)Minimum 2 years experience with Siemens building automation or controls systems, however, candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply.Solid understanding of HVAC and electrical systemsStrong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skillsWillingness to learn AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and advanced BAS toolsHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality and safetyWhy Cahill Technical ServicesCTS plays a lead role within The Cahill Group for commissioning, maintenance, operations, and design-build delivery.
