This role blends technology-rich youth engagement, community outreach, partnership development, and operational leadership to ensure the space is a vibrant, inclusive, and youth-led space for creativity, learning, and career exploration. The space provides youth with access to cutting-edge technology and tools to explore meaningful projects, such as music production, digital art, robotics, animation, coding, photography, and more, while supported by caring adult mentors and a community of peers. You will receive strategic oversight from the Senior Manager, Programs and collaborate closely with internal teams, external staff and networks, and community partners.Position DetailsContract Type/Term: Full-time, IndefiniteStart Date: March 2, 2026Hours of Work: 35 hours/week, including at least 20 hours/week of open technology-based community space programming during after school and/or weekend hoursVacancy Type: NewLocation: Toronto-based hybrid model, with occasional in-office work at 71 Regent Park Boulevard, Toronto, ON and at technology-based community space(s) across the GTA. program staff are expected to be in person for key program delivery and development days, with flexibility to work remotely on non-program daysExtended health and dental coverageFlexible savings options, with employer-matching contributions to your choice of GRRSP, TFSA, or FHSA after 1 year of employmentFlexible Fridays year-roundEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) offered through Support & GrowthKey ResponsibilitiesProgram Delivery & Facilitation: Facilitate daily programming in a youth-led, project-based environment grounded in the Clubhouse learning model.Support youth in developing digital media, STEM, and creative technology projects (e.g., music, newsletters, coding, animation, robotics).Provide hands-on help: idea generation, material gathering, troubleshooting, connecting youth with mentors, and celebrating project outcomes.Maintain a safe, welcoming, creative space that reflects the space’s culture and values.Provide technology maintenance (file management, troubleshooting, equipment upkeep).Ensure participant logging, data collection, and reporting systems are consistently maintained.Support youth in exploring academic, tech, and career pathways aligned with their technology-based community space experiences.Program Strategy & LeadershipEnsure the space implements the external stakeholder’s learning model and philosophySupport strategic planning tied to the space’s sustainability, community integration, and youth engagement outcomes.Collaborate with internal teams to design, evaluate, and enhance programming.Ensure the space operations align with external stakeholder expectations, including career pathways, STEM access, and equity commitments.Uphold all grant requirements, operational standards, and reporting obligations.Support tours, open houses, storytelling, and fundraising-related activities.Community Engagement & OutreachLead outreach strategies to engage diverse youth ages 13–18.Build relationships with youth, families, community leaders, teachers, and partners.Plan and host the space events, showcases, open houses, and volunteer engagement days (including monthly external stakeholder/employee open house).Recruit and coordinate external stakeholder and local volunteers.Represent Visions of Science at community meetings, forums, and grassroots spaces.Partnership Development & StewardshipSupport the designated CBO Representative (Visions of Science manager) in maintaining the space’s excellence.Coordinate closely with external stakeholder, networks, and presenting partners.Develop partnerships that expand mentorship, skills training, resource-sharing, and youth opportunities.Maintain accurate CRM documentation of partnerships, volunteers, and engagement activities.Support long-term sustainability planning with internal teams and external stakeholder’s Foundation partners.Curriculum & CoordinationEnsure programming reflects youth interests while aligning with project-based learning principles.Support staff in integrating the space’s resources into broader Visions of Science programming (workshops, kits, school-based activities).Adapt facilitation tools and activities to reflect culturally responsive and equity-centered approaches.Maintain the space’s technology, equipment, and space to meet required standards.Ensure the space’s website content is accurate and regularly updated.Stakeholder Communication & Knowledge SharingProvide administrative support including records, scheduling, reporting, and communications.Prepare updates for funders, external stakeholders, networks, and internal leadership.Contribute to best-practice sharing with other national technology-based community spaces.Support storytelling and communications to highlight youth achievements and the space’s impact.What We’re Looking ForEducation & TrainingPost-secondary education in a relevant field (community development, youth work, digital media, education, tech, nonprofit management) OR equivalent lived and professional experienceCommitment to ongoing learning, including mandatory external stakeholder trainingRequired Experience & Expertise3–5 years experience supporting youth in community or educational settingsDemonstrated ability to foster inclusive, creative, tech-rich learning environmentsExperience with digital media, creative technology, or STEM learning spacesAbility to engage youth, families, educators, mentors, and diverse stakeholdersExperience in community engagement, outreach, and partnership buildingStrong organizational and administrative skills, including data trackingComfort troubleshooting basic technology and maintaining hardware/softwareAbility to work evenings/weekends as requiredApplication ProcessPlease submit your application by January 25, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST via this link.
