Quality Controller – Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Verka Food International Ltd. is Canada’s leading South Asian food wholesaler, with over 20 years of experience as a trusted importer, distributor, and manufacturer of high-quality ethnic food products. We are seeking an experienced Quality Controller / Food Safety & Compliance professional to support our food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality systems in Canada. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with CFIA regulations, SFCR, PCP, and HACCP, and will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced food manufacturing/import environment. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with CFIA, SFCR, and applicable Canadian food regulations Maintain and update Preventive Control Plans (PCP) and food safety documentation Support and manage CFIA inspections, audits, and corrective actions Review labels, product specifications, and regulatory documentation for compliance Manage deviations, complaints, recalls, and CAPA processes Conduct internal audits and food safety training Collaborate with operations, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance Qualifications 5+ years experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or Regulatory Compliance Strong working knowledge of CFIA / SFCR / HACCP Experience in food manufacturing, import, or distribution environment Exposure to GFSI standards (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000) is an asset Strong documentation, communication, and problem‑solving skills Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred What We Offer Stable, growth‑oriented environment Hands‑on role with real regulatory responsibility Opportunity to work with national retail and import compliance programs Job Details Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Quality Assurance Industries: Food and Beverage Services Location Surrey, British Columbia, Canada #J-18808-Ljbffr
