Its principal locations are in Montreal, Quebec; Ottawa, Ontario; and Chicago, Illinois. Client is a wholly owned subsidiary of a specialized aerospace and defense company headquartered in US, listed in NYSEScope of PositionReporting directly to the Director, Aviation Products, the Product Manager, Aviation Products is responsible for the marketing of existing products as well as defining and launching new products.Position location and travelThis position is located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Ottawa. The Product Manager regularly travels internationally to visit customers, partners, prospects and industry events.Main Tasks and ResponsibilitiesMarket definition, assessment and competitive landscape analysisTechnology assessmentDevelopment and maintenance of product roadmapsDevelopment and maintenance of technology roadmapsDevelopment and maintenance of product marketing plansDefinition of new products and development of the associated business caseDefinition of new features / enhancements for existing products and development of the associated business casePreparation of proposals for both new and existing productsDefinition of product pricing strategy in collaboration with sales and program managementDevelopment of product collateral and sales tools to support sales activityConduct win / loss analysisProvide training to the sales channelProvide product specific support to the sales channel through coordination with engineering and program managementMeet with customers and partner companies on a regular basis, developing excellent working relationships while managing the scope of all Client activitiesPrepare various internal reports / forecasts on a monthly basis and brief senior management as requiredPrepare various external reports for customers on a periodic basisProvide regular forecasts to manufacturing synthesized from data collected from multiple sources including contracts, sales, programs and customersRegular travel to customer and partner company sitesPreferred Education and ExperienceEngineering degree or equivalent, ideally combined with a business degree10+ years of experience in an engineering / business role in the aviation / avionics industry with at least 3+ years of product management experienceExperience defining products, developing business cases, and supervising engineering teamsExcellent written, verbal, and presentationsStrong analytical skillsIn depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications in particular Excel and PowerPointExperience negotiating and managing contractsExperience with RF, optics, or infrared imaging and / or in a COTS product environment is an assetRemuneration and BenefitsSalary, incentives, and benefit package are commensurate with experience and qualifications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
