Indigenous candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.The PositionThe Position General ManagerAllRock currently operates seven office locations, three in Newfoundland (Corner Brook, Mount Pearl, and Gander) and four in Ontario (Toronto, Ottawa, London, and Barrie).AllRock Consulting is rapidly growing, and were looking for an experienced General Manager to lead and expand our Newfoundland operations.In this key leadership role, youll combine your technical expertise, whether in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or materials testing, with strong leadership and business development skills to operate, grow, and elevate our offices. Youll take a hands-on approach to project delivery while building, mentoring, and inspiring a high-performing team.This role requires a go-getter mindset, someone who is ambitious, proactive, and comfortable engaging with clients. Youll be expected to drive business growth, build strategic relationships, and represent AllRock with confidence and professionalism in client meetings, industry events, and community engagements.Frequent travel to AllRocks offices across Newfoundland is required, as youll be actively involved in supporting and growing operations in Corner Brook, Mount Pearl, and Gander.ResponsibilitiesLead business development initiatives to grow AllRocks client base and expand market presence in Newfoundland.Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing updates on project status, negotiating contracts, and offering technical support.Represent AllRock in client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities with confidence and professionalism.Prepare proposals, project planning, scheduling, allocation of personnel and resources, budgeting, overall supervision of project personnel, reporting, and regular communication with clients.Responsible for invoicing clients on a monthly basis unless an alternative payment schedule is specifically requested by the client and agreed upon by the group leader and/or department manager.Responsible for retention of existing clients and acquisition of new clients.Responsible for following AllRocks health and safety policies and procedures and applicable government legislations.Accountable for revenue, costs and profitability of projects under his / her management.As required, the general manager will participate in projects in a technical capacity, including:Performing various types of construction materials testing,Receiving and logging in of samples, calibration and overseeing maintenance of equipment,Independent field reviews of various stages of civil construction, andReport writing and technical interpretation of specifications and drawings.The general manager will provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior AllRock personnel in accordance with his / her knowledge base.Create technical reviews and provide recommendations regarding designs and reports prepared by consulting engineers.Collaborate with other AllRock service lines on multi-service projectsTravel, shiftwork and overtime may be required. Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing updates on project status, negotiating contracts, and offering technical support.Frequent travel to AllRocks offices across Newfoundland (Corner Brook, Mount Pearl, and Gander) is required to support operations, meet with clients, and ensure consistent service delivery.Establish and oversee quality control procedures to ensure precision and reliability in geotechnical analyses and reports, following industry standards and best practices.LOCATION : The successful candidate does not need to reside in St. Johns. This role supports operations across Newfoundland, including Corner Brook, Mount Pearl, and Gander. Candidates based anywhere in Newfoundland are welcome to apply.START DATE : As soon as possibleEducation, Experience, and Skills RequiredCivil or Geotechnical, Technician or Technologist Diploma, or similar. Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree (Minimum requirement is a college diploma and related experience).P. Eng. Certification is an asset but not required.5+ years relevant experience in Materials Engineering, Construction, or other related fields.Attention to detail in all undertakings is essentialSuperior organizational and communications skills are essentialDesire to succeed in a dynamic, progressive organizationFamiliarity with federal and provincial environmental legislation and regulationsA high level of integrity and pride in quality work is imperative.Proven technical writing skills.Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.Valid Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.CCIL Concrete and Asphalt Certification is an asset but not required.ApplicationsTo apply, email your cover letter, resume, and proof of any relevant certifications to with "General Manager" in the subject line.
