We support Optik TV, internet access hardware, Boost Wi-Fi, SmartHome, and more.What you’ll doAs a Staff Technical Product Manager - Home Security Hardware (L5 Product) in the TELUS Connected Home Hardware Team, you will manage our portfolio of home security hardware, with a focus on the control panels and accompanying devices that support our SmartHome service. You will assess and evaluate TELUS’ current and future control panel roadmap. To achieve this, you will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for your product portfolio, working with ODM/OEM partners to define, develop and launch the products, and managing them post-launch until their end of life. You will define the overall strategy, product roadmap, and technical/feature specifications for our products based on long-term product vision, user needs, technical and market trends, and platform capabilities.Specifically, you will:Serve as the subject matter expert on competitor products, vendor roadmaps, IoT protocols, Wi-Fi protocols, smart home technologies, home security and automation technologiesDevelop product roadmap and the in-home deployment architecture for current and new productsConduct market research (technology, consumer, competitor), develop product design (industrial design, packaging, mechanical design, features, useability, and onboarding), and write requirements documentationEngage with and get buy-in from several stakeholders and partners, both internally and externally, on your proposed product roadmapCreate, maintain, present, and get approval for business cases that support your product roadmap from all leadership levelsEvaluate mechanical design, RF design, CMF (colour, material, finish) as part of the product development processLead all internal and external teams for product launches and ongoing management, including vendors, engineering (RF, mechanical, software, and firmware), systems and ordering, marketing, logistics, and supply chainCreate, maintain, and share project plans and schedules for new product development with all leadership levels, both internally and externallyMaintain strategic partnerships with various hardware, silicon, and software vendorsQualificationsWhat you bring10+ years experience managing technical projects through to completionDegree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experienceExperience building and driving business priorities for a product portfolio, including ROI analysis, budgeting, and cost-benefit analysisExperience translating market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape into product strategies and roadmapsDeep understanding of home automation home security, and IoT technologiesExperience working with third-party vendors, particularly manufacturersDeep understanding and experience with consumer electronics development life cycles and various electronics manufacturing working modelsExcellent verbal and written communication skills to bridge technical and business teamsExcellent organizational, time management, and presentation skillsGreat-to-havesExperience with new technology development (hardware and software)Experience with consumer electronics or telecom industryPMP CertificationAgile Product Management CertificationKnowledge of Jira and ConfluenceKnowledge of Monday.comKnowledge of G-suiteSpoken Mandarin is helpful when communicating with manufacturing partnersSalary Range: $112,000-$168,000Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
