Royal Inland Hospital – Anaesthesiologist Position Location: Kamloops, British Columbia. About Kamloops: A vibrant city of 100,000 situated in the northern extension of wine country in south‑central British Columbia. About Royal Inland Hospital (RIH): A 273‑bed tertiary referral centre serving approximately 250,000 people. RIH is the no‑refusal centre for the Thompson‑Cariboo Shuswap Health Service Area, receiving over 250 major traumas and 70,000 visits annually. The new Phil and Jennifer Gaglardi Tower opened in 2022 and includes a new operating room, surgical services suite, obstetric services, labour & delivery, respiratory therapy, mental health and substance use inpatient units, and a rooftop helipad. The hospital offers specialties such as Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Acute Inpatient Psychiatry, and a high‑acuity response team. Diagnostic services include MRI, CT, echocardiography, and a sleep lab. Practice Details Royal Inland Hospital is seeking multiple anaesthesiologists who will provide comprehensive anaesthesia care for surgeries including general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, vascular, obstetrics & gynecology, ENT, plastic, and urology, as well as manage multiple trauma cases for both pediatric and adult patients. Team includes 6 highly qualified Anesthesiology Assistants. Teaching of senior residents rotating through RIH during their elective time. Hospital‑based position with 15‑hour weekday and 12‑hour weekend calls (approximately one weekend per month). On‑call remuneration, with potential 10‑12 weeks off per year. Public holidays are distributed equally among colleagues, with full pre‑ and post‑call support to maintain good working conditions. Opportunities for locums or other short‑term work. Leadership Development: Participation in Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program. Compensation Type: Clinical Service Contract. Estimated Remuneration: $545,000 – $598,000. Relocation assistance $9,000 – $15,000 based on move location (with eligible receipts). Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
