We provide financing solutions for land, subdivisions, multi-familyresidential, retail, industrial, office, hospitality, mixed-use properties,as well as specialized options such as equity and structured financing.POSITION Director, Loan AdministrationYOUR OPPORTUNITYWe are lookingforaDirector, Loan Administration, to join our team based out of either our Edmonton or Calgary offices. Reporting to the Vice President, Investment Management, the successful candidate willbe responsible foroversight and management of the Loan Administration team. In addition, the Director, Loan Administration will build andmaintainan efficient loan servicing function for the Real Estate Debt division, while overseeing all transactions and processes performed by the Loan Administration team, including a thorough and ongoing review of day-to-day processes.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYLeadershipLead the day-to-day operations and execute on strategy and department plans for the Loan Administration team with the support of the Vice President, Investment Management andAssistant Vice President, Real Estate Debt.Supervision of the Loan Administration team, including assignment of work, ongoing training and development,performance management,as well as recruitment and onboarding of new hires.Drive team engagement and ensure KVC’s culture and values are embedded with the Loan Administration team.Loan Administration & ServicingMaintain and improve a “best in class” loan servicing function for the Real Estate Debt division.Oversee Loan Administration team activities including, but not limited to:Maintenance ofaccurateloan record information for all loans within database records (principal balances, charges, property information, security values,loan tovalue,etc).Processing and posting of all loan transactions (advances, payouts) once approved by the relevant functions.Facilitating all post-closing activities including but not limited to discharge, renewal, accountadministrationand payment processing.Preparation and distribution of internal and external statements for management, borrowers and solicitors, including (but not limited to): discharge, information and arrears statements.Working jointly with the Finance team,assistin ensuring that accounting journal entries are accurately prepared and the loan portfolio is accuratelymaintainedand accounted for.Resolve basic or moderate default events (e.g.bounced payments) through effective communication.Liaise with investors and borrowers to communicate and resolve performance issues.Develop andmaintaineffective compliance, riskmanagementand risk controls in the servicing of the portfolio by exercising consistent, objective, and sound decisionsin accordance withKVC policy and procedures.Manage and provide exceptional client service for institutional lenders/direct investors, including periodic reporting requirements and adherence to Service Level Agreements with the utmost accuracy.Support the Capital Market team’s capital origination functionwith sourcing new capital relationships, as the face of the Loan Administration team and the subject-matter expert. This includes leading the Participation Agreement, Servicing Agreement, andInterlenderAgreement drafting processes or designing reporting processes specifically for these investors.Plan,monitor, andanalyzethe Loan Administration function’s KPI’s, and select broader KPIs for the Real Estate Debt division, for thedepartmentperformance to ensure the reaching of KVC’s goals.Special Projects & Strategic InitiativesContinuouslyidentifyand execute best practice process improvements for the Loan Administration function. Work toeliminateredundanciesandidentifyopportunities for automation.Participate in or lead various projects in support of business plans and/or best practice plan initiatives.Partner withOperational Excellenceandother relevantteams to implement and enhance loan administration technologyand processes, ensuring dataintegrityand system efficiency.Implement strategic directives and performance metrics as directed.YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALSA bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, business, ora relatedfield isrequired.Advanced certifications such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are considered an asset.7+ years of directly related experience in the real estate, finance, or investment industries.Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Office, particularlyExcelisrequired.Proven leadership ability, including experience in a supervisory or managerial role.Build andmaintainstrong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Familiarity with financial software, loan administration system, and underwriting platformssuch asTMO and Microsoft Dynamicsa strongasset.Personal interest, working knowledge, and/or experience in the real estate or commercial mortgage industry.Competitive total compensation package, including performance-based and long-term incentivesComprehensive paid time-off package, including birthdays off and holiday office closuresFinancial and organizational support for professional development opportunitiesFlexible work environment, includinghybrid work offering(4 days in office, 1 dayremoteper week).APPLY NOWYou will be part of an enthusiastic and highly effective team with no endtochallenging and transformational work in sight.
