Overview The Analyst, Business Line Controls supports the operational control framework within the Residential Lending (RESL), Retail Products or Specialized Lending business line. This role is responsible for assisting in the execution of control activities, identifying and reporting operational risks, and supporting compliance with internal policies and external regulations. As part of the Strategy, Governance and Controls team, the Analyst contributes to the effectiveness of Manulife Bank’s first line of defense by maintaining accurate documentation, performing control testing, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Position Responsibilities Lead the execution and documentation of regulatory and operational control procedures within the RESL Lending, Retail Products or Specialized Lending business line. Complete the Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), including data gathering, analysis, and reporting. Complete control testing activities and identify gaps or areas for improvement. Collaborate with business partners to ensure controls are embedded in day-to-day processes and aligned with regulatory requirements. Prepare summaries and reports on control effectiveness, findings, and remediation efforts for review by management. Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure controls remain effective and compliant. Provide support during internal and external audits, including gathering evidence and responding to inquiries. Support initiatives to strengthen first line risk management capabilities and promote operational resilience. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in operational controls, risk management, audit, or a related analytical role. Preferred Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with risk management tools is an asset.
