**The Opportunity**

The Business Analyst is responsible for performing detailed requirements gathering, documenting processes, and managing projects in whole and in part. Key competencies for this role include deciphering needs from wants, project and relationship management, customer service, creative problem solving, product development, organization & planning, communication, and teamwork.

The Business Analyst will be the vital link between our technology team and our business stakeholders. By consulting with various business stakeholders, the Business Analyst will translate business needs to solution requirements by creating Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and process flow diagrams as applicable. At other times the Business Analyst will conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings with project sponsors and management.

The Business Analyst will work collaboratively with the developers to define product release requirements that will ensure the successful delivery of new offerings and product enhancements. Additional aspects of the role will require participating in release management, UAT & Pilot testing plans, and recommend go-no-go decisions. Formally building in VoC within the overall release process, you confirm that solutions meet business needs and requirements. Part of the Business Analyst’s time will be spent actively managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance ensuring project metrics are being achieved.

**The Role**

In your role as Business Analyst at MarshallZehr, you will
- Plan and manage projects for the implementation of new/improved tools and/or processes
- Establish priorities, create timelines (and adapt as required)
- Identify and manage competing resources and priorities to maximize overall business outcomes
- Actively participate in formal change management practices
- Raise risks and issues in a timely manner and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce project risk and maintain project schedule
- Communicate with business teams to determine their requirements, coordinating with Dev, QA, and project teams for the implementation
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Hold Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with business and development teams to enhance and assess solutions across different systems
- Foster a collaborative working environment amongst all stakeholders
- Exhibit patience, tolerance, and adaptability towards various working styles

**What Are We Looking For?**

We're looking for someone that is
- Approachable with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professional, organized, and detailed oriented
- Comfortable leading or facilitating meetings and conducting information gathering sessions
- Proficient at reading an audience and adapting communication style to suit
- Able to gather, analyze, document and validate the needs of project stakeholders
- Skilled at assembling multiple pieces of data into formats that are easily consumable by stakeholders
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity

**Preferred Requirements**

Qualifications:

- Technical experience, either practical or through a technical degree/diploma
- Business experience, either practical or through a business degree/diploma
- Understanding of technical and SW development landscape allowing for value-add communication with the development team
- Familiar with project management systems (Trello, Asana, Monday, ClickUp, MS Project, etc.) and approaches (Kanban, Scrum, Agile, Waterfall) as well as SW item tracking/development products (Gitlab, Github, JIRA)

**Work Environment**
