OverviewOccupational Therapist, Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en Primary Care Centre at First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). The role supports primary health care services and traditional wellness services for First Nations people in a culturally safe setting, working with an interprofessional team to provide assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and interventions that promote optimal health. This term position ends 3/31/2028, with a possibility of extension; it is intended that the role may transition to a permanent position with The Healing House.About The RoleThe Wilp D’Mootxw – Nec’a Yikh “The Healing House” Primary Care Centre aims to integrate family and community supports within a no barriers to care model. The Occupational Therapist delivers services in line with COTBC standards, collaborating with the interprofessional care team and contributing to education, consultation, and quality improvement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesProvide assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and interventions to support patient health and functional outcomes.Educate patients and families; participate in research, special projects, and quality improvement initiatives.Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to ensure culturally safe care and alignment with program goals.About YouEducationBachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Occupational CertificationCurrent full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is an asset.Valid British Columbia Driver’s License.ExperienceMinimum two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist in various field and programs.Experience in community interventions and coordination or service plans is an asset.Experience working with individuals, families, and community organizations.Experience working with First Nations communities is preferred.Working at FNHAFNHA offers a range of employee benefits and opportunities for growth. The pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for full-time hours; incumbents are typically hired between the minimum and midpoint based on knowledge, skills, and experience. The top 10% of the pay range is reserved for industry experts with exceptional experience and competencies.
