Visier's SRE development (DevOps) team is responsible for developing solutions to build and manage our cloud infrastructure underlying our technology platform and for working with other development teams to effectively use these technologies in production environments. We are responsible for our Jenkins pipelines, cloud platform integration (AWS and Azure), Kubernetes stack, API gateways, Cassandra, Kafka, Vault, Consul and other infrastructure services. Our job is to provide the infrastructure that allows our analytic platform and services to scale.

This is a senior individual contributor position, where you will take responsibility for helping us design, build and maintain high-performance cloud infrastructure solutions, using Azure cloud services.

What you'll be doing...
  • Designing scalable, secure and robust infrastructure solutions using Azure services, which meet both current and future business requirements.
  • Ensuring infrastructure solutions adhere to security best practice and compliance requirements
  • Deploying and maintaining highly available services in multiple data centres as well as in Azure using tools including Terraform, Cloudformation, and Jenkins
  • Debugging production issues at any level, from the hardware layers and the OS kernels all the way up to working hand in hand with the developers to improve our application behaviour
  • Re-architecting our core ETL processes and deployment landscape to dynamically scale using auto scaling groups and Kubernetes
  • Working with the Kong API gateway to provide secure & reliable API access to our customers and partners
  • Implementing a new data science workspace for our data scientists securely develop benchmarks and perform research projects on customer data sets.
  • Writing secure code to safeguard Visier and our customers' data, including developing our application security infrastructure
  • Optimizing our diagnostics infrastructure components like Splunk, Cloudwatch, Prometheus, and PRTG
  • Supporting large clusters of 3rd party systems like Cassandra, Postgres, and Kafka
  • Preparing for and simulating disasters of all sorts. We're mission critical for our customers and need to stay up, no matter what
What you'll bring to the table...
  • Excellent knowledge of Azure services
  • Experience leading the creation of production-ready Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Excellent knowledge of networking principles, linux internals and systems administration
  • Strong knowledge of deployment and configuration management tools
  • Strong experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes
  • Coding skills in Java, Scala, Python, or Groovy

The base pay range for this position in Canada is $130k - $194k / year + bonus

The compensation offered will be determined by factors such as relevant qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. Many of our positions are eligible for additional types of compensation (e.g., commission plans, bonus, etc.) which our Talent Acquisition team will share with you if you interview for the role.
